獨立寫作就是標準的議論文，對一個話題進行論述分析。獨立寫作涉及的范圍更廣一些。總的來說，托福獨立寫作的題型主要包含了二選一、三選一、絕對詞題、今昔對比題、事實現象題、以及should題。

獨立寫作對于絕大部分考生來說，如何充分論證一個觀點的同時又具有很好的銜接關系是最大的一個難題。

考生們寫獨立寫作最大的共鳴就是沒有那么多話好說。一篇議論文的論證方法有很多：舉例論證，原因論證，結果論證，對比論證，假設論證，解釋說明，數據支撐等等。

在上述論證方法中，對比論證在托福寫作中應該是應用得比較多的一種論證方法，因為學生可以在相對較短的時間里想出一些論點。對比論證主要包含一件事物的正反對比，通常在二選一，三選一和should的考試題型中應用較為廣泛。

01第一種，對比論證

講解對比論證之前先給各位同學一個情景假設，左吳亦凡，右宋小寶，選擇一個當男朋友你會pick誰？

那我現在來分析一下我們剛剛選擇的步驟，首先我們確定了觀點：選擇吳亦凡。

然后我們做出來比較，和宋小寶相比吳亦凡更帥；

其次，我們寫出了一些吳亦凡帥的細節和宋小寶相對不足的細節來證明我們的觀點；最后，我們得出結論，選擇吳亦凡。

其實，我們在托福獨立寫作中對比論證的套路就是這樣的，我們便可以總結出對比論證的步驟。

02第二種，今昔對比

今昔對比題應該是托福寫作考試中的重點題型之一。

TPO以及歷年真題中都會出現很多這種題型的題目，通常會拿現在與過去進行比較，也會存在與將來進行比較。

遇見這種題型的時候，考生可以用到時間對比的概念來論證解題。

比如，我們可以看一看TPO上面的一些今昔對比典型的考題。

By contrast, decades ago, the young were prone to depend on their parents on some trivial matters in their daily life, such as cooking dishes, buying clothes.

Nowadays?, they might search through the internet or just let the electric cooker automatically cook the ingredients and obtain some exquisite and faddish clothes via some application programmers in cellphones.
