Task 2:?Some people think it is important for all children to learn history at school. Others believe that other subjects are more relevant to children’s development today. Discuss both views and give your opinion. (重復(fù)2013年5月18日考題)

點(diǎn)評: 題目簡單。歷史肯定是要學(xué)，但是只學(xué)歷史肯定是不夠，所以還要學(xué)其他的實(shí)用性學(xué)科。結(jié)論就是都要學(xué)。這個題目有人物限定, children, 小學(xué)生。如果是大學(xué)生或者高中生，我會不同意所有(all)都應(yīng)該學(xué)歷史，但是是children, 我是同意的。

另外，children段時(shí)間內(nèi)也沒有就業(yè)需求，請注意。最后，題目中的at school也在提綱中進(jìn)行了回應(yīng)，at school這里并不是重點(diǎn)，但是回應(yīng)了肯定不會錯。

Reasons for all children to learn history at school.

1. History plays a strong role in strengthening the national identity of children.

-through the study of history, they learn about how societies and countries were formed and how past events shaped them.

2. History actually prepares children for their future.

- mental capabilities such as memorization skills, and logic skills could be developed when they try to study historical facts.-history helps learners to understand current situations and solve current problems because history can function as a ‘review mirror’

3. We cannot assume that children will be drawn to a study of the past on their own initiative, so history should be a compulsory part of primary school curriculum.（回應(yīng)了at school）

On the other hand, history is not sufficient to prepare children for their current and future life; therefore, they should also learn other subjects.

- Mathematics is the foundation of a variety of subjects, such as engineering, business, economics or finance.?Learning maths?paves a?good way for their futuer academic achievement.

-Primary school curriculum should also include subjects like time management and banking. These skills are more likely to be put into immediate use in everyday life.

In conclusion,?history?should be a compulsory?course for children, but?subjects that are?more practical?should also be included?in?primary school curriculum.??
