This week we celebrateFounders’ Week in honor of the day we first opened our doors on September 17, 1912.

這周，我們舉行“創(chuàng)始人紀(jì)念周”活動(dòng)來慶祝1912年9月17日上海美國學(xué)校的創(chuàng)立。

In the fall of 2017 at Shanghai American School, SAS TV made its debut, broadcasting the APAC baseball tournament live online. But that wasn’t the first time SAS went live.

2017年秋季，SASTV（上海美國學(xué)校電視臺(tái)）正式投入使用，并對(duì)APAC（亞太活動(dòng)組織）棒球錦標(biāo)賽進(jìn)行了第一次網(wǎng)絡(luò)直播。但這不是上海美國學(xué)校進(jìn)行的首次直播活動(dòng)。

In the winter of 1939, the school’s Radio Club teamed with an experienced Marine announcer to broadcast a basketball game – SAS vs. Canadian Academy. Eager to repeat their success without help from the experienced announcer, the students attempted to broadcast basketball games the following year, under the call letters XU8SAS.

1939年冬季，上海美國學(xué)校的廣播社與一位經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的海軍陸戰(zhàn)隊(duì)播音員一起對(duì)一場(chǎng)籃球賽進(jìn)行了廣播——上海美國學(xué)?；@球隊(duì)對(duì)戰(zhàn)加拿大學(xué)院籃球隊(duì)。上海美國學(xué)校的學(xué)生們希望不借助這位富有經(jīng)驗(yàn)的播音員的幫助來重復(fù)之前取得的成功，于是第二年他們嘗試對(duì)籃球賽進(jìn)行廣播，廣播呼號(hào)為XU8SAS。

As it turned out, they’d have benefitted from a little assistance after all. The livestream was unsuccessful, but the students were able to broadcast pregame and halftime music programs. XU8SAS carried on beyond the basketball season, eventually morphing into a radio station, “XU8SAS Hot Jazz.”

事實(shí)證明，他們還是需要一些幫助。直播并沒有取得成功，但學(xué)生們還是對(duì)賽前準(zhǔn)備和中場(chǎng)休息時(shí)的音樂節(jié)目進(jìn)行了廣播。XU8SAS在籃球賽季過后被繼續(xù)使用，最終發(fā)展成為了一個(gè)電臺(tái)：“XU8SAS Hot Jazz”。
