THIS OPEN DAY

01開放日

11月12日，清華附中國際部舉辦校園開放日。盡管前期未做大規模宣傳，開放日當天仍然吸引了160個家庭、230名家長的到訪。此次活動幫助家長們了解學校教育教學理念，感受校園文化氛圍，反響熱烈，受到了家長們的一致好評。

Tsinghua International School (THIS) hosted the School Open Day on Tuesday, October 12, 2019. The School Open Day attracted 160 families and 230 parents and was geared towards giving parents a chance to experience the school atmosphere and assisting with their decision in choosing a school for their kids.

本次開放日包括學校簡介、校園參觀、課堂觀摩、小學中文特色課程展示、中學升學指導介紹、中小學課程介紹、幼兒園及媒體見面會以及招生咨詢和預約面試。

The Open Day contained a variety of activities ranging from a school introduction, school tour, class visitations to the information sessions targeted at different grades.

SCHOOL INTRODUCTION

02學校介紹會

上午九點，國際部招生辦主任依蘭女士主持活動并向蒞臨開放日的家長表示歡迎。國際部執行校長李文平女士與學術校長Maxine Klimasara女士就國際部的學校概況和課程設置向家長做了簡要介紹。家長們從宏觀的角度一探國際部的教育教學機制和校園文化。

At 9 a.m., Director of Admission Ms. Lan Yi hosted the event and expressed her welcome to all the parents. Executive Principals Ms. Wenping Li and Academic Principal Ms. Maxine Klimasara presented a detailed introduction of THIS, helping parents explore the education system and campus culture of THIS from a macro perspective.

之后，國際部小學語文老師李京京向小學家長們介紹了國際部小學語文課程設計、教學目標、教學活動以及中文作為母語培養的教學理念。

Afterwards, primary Chinese teacher Ms. Jingjing introduced the primary Chinese program from four aspects of curriculum design, teaching objectives, teaching activities and teaching concepts.

03校園參觀

隨后，家長們在國際部老師的帶領下，走進校園，親身感受國際部的硬件設施和學習環境。走廊上展出的學生作品和雙語介紹是國際部教學成果的最好體現。

Later on, parents were led to join the school tour where they experienced the school facilities and study environment in person. The student works and bilingual introductions in the corridors are the best embodiment of the school’s teaching achievements.

04課堂觀摩

教學質量扎實才是吸引優秀生源的硬道理。國際部深諳其道，在每次開放日之際都會安排課堂觀摩環節，方便家長零距離感受國際部教師的教學水平和學生的學習狀態。豐富多彩的課堂形式和活潑多元的課堂氛圍都給家長們留下了深刻的印象。

THIS understands that solid teaching is the secret of attracting excellent students. This is the reason why THIS holds class visitations on every Open Day. After entering the classroom, parents were impressed by the colorful in-class activities and the lively classroom atmosphere.

INFORMATION SESSIONS

06課程介紹及答疑

走出課堂，小學部主任Ms. Britini Leigh Padilla、中學部主任Mr. Jeff Joyce以及國際部學術校長Ms. Maxine Klimasara分別為小學、初中以及高中的家長們介紹具體的課程安排和教學活動，并耐心解答了家長們關心的問題。升學指導老師鄒培還為初高中家長安排了升學指導會，向家長介紹國際部在升學方面為學生提供的一系列支持和幫助。

Primary Director Ms. Britini Leigh Padilla, Secondary Director Mr. Jeff Joyce and the Academic Principal Ms. Maxine Klimasara provided parents with in-depth information sessions about the curriculum and activities of different grade levels, touching on a number of key themes that parents were concerned about. There was also a college counseling session for secondary school parents, where College Counseling Ms. Amy Zou introduced school’s professional college/university counseling program.

開放日活動結束后，家長們在招生辦公室里排起了報名的長隊。他們紛紛表示，清華附中國際部的教育氛圍融洽和諧、教師團隊兢兢業業、中英文雙母語教學優勢顯著，把孩子們送到這里上學無比安心。

After the event, parents lined up in long queues for enrollment in the admission office. Parents said that they were impressed with the harmonious environment, diligent students, professional teachers and the two native languages policyat THIS, and they really wanted their kids to be here.

THIS pays attention to the integration of the advantages of Chinese and Western education in teaching and learning. Attention is paid to the cultivation of students’ critical thinking skills and creativity, but also to the promotion of Chinese language and culture. Thanks to this Open Day, parents got to know the rigorous learning environment, the current admission policy, and academic achievements of THIS.
