I was very happy that I got a chance to go to Utahloy International School. It was my first time that I had gone such an international school where many foreign students study. So there is no doubt that It really broadens my horizons.
On that day, it took us approximately 30 minutes to get there by bus. When we arrived, all of us with great joy were guided to the waiting room in which the headmaster of the school gave a short speech to greet us. Also, we greeted him, too.
After that, before the first class, we were divided into six groups and every group went to different classes. Our group was brought to the Chinese class. When we came in, the teacher was teaching the students to understand the book Le Pere Goriot, which is filled with Chinese words. And then we rapidly took a seat in order not to disturb the class and also listened to the teacher like the students. About30 minutes later, I found it hard to understand the words as if we were learning another language! So the class told me that everyone has a little trouble learning a new language.
After the class, we continued the next class CAS. In the classroom, all the students talked to each other happily. Some foreign students said that the class was used to relax themselves while some said it made their homework unable to be finished. In a word, the class made everyone open to others.
I found that everyone in the school had a computer to study with in every class. Maybe it would help them get more knowledge. Also, the way of study can be accepted by us if it is helpful.
Later, we went to the canteen to have lunch. To be honest, it was delicious.
In the afternoon, we went to the playground to play softball, the rule of which was nearly unknown to us.However, we tried our best to play softball. In the end of the match, we had a wonderful time.
At last, It’s a pity that it was time to come back. Teacher Andrew said that we are welcome to come again. We all thanked him and took photos together.
This visit is valuable. After all, it was my first time. It will be in my heart forever.
Different Languages, Young Dreams

On March 9th, I went to Utahloy International School with excitement. Feeling the spring wind of this school, we then started to learn about this school. What made me surprised was that this school has a high demand for the idea of exploration. It’s almost revolving around the four learning stages of PYP, MYP, DP and IBCC. I then was led to attend four lessons with curiosity including Humanities class, Music class, Biology class and P.E. class.
In Humanities class, the teacher presented four themes. My partners, Leo and David, as well as I, explored the Opium War. As it was very flexible in this class, I felt a strong sense of cooperation and trust on each other.
In Music class, the teacher taught us to sing, and then divided us into four groups-- from low pitch to high pitch. The name of our school, Zheng Zhongjun high school, was also blended into these tones. Finally, we ended with “sense of love”. The teacher’s word impressed me, “You all have a musical voice. As long as you feel the beauty of the music, it works.”
In Biology class, I felt very confused because of too many professional words. But I found that three foreign students were always active, thinking about the problem, then asking questions or arguing with the teacher, which reminded me of the word “exploration” suddenly.
In P.E. class, the teacher and his students taught us to play softball patiently. Then we were divided into two teams. In the process, the joy of the game surrounded my ears and encouraged me to join in a hot sport in the new term. Finally, there was a friendly farewell with each other.
All in all, I’m very grateful to be able to communicate with foreign students from other countries, and I have benefited a lot. We may have different skin colors or different nationalities, and may have different pressures in study, but we are all youngsters, chasing out dreams in our own fields. Best wishes to all of us!
