2023-2024年申請季補充文書更新 哈耶普麻斯均已更新

隨著8月1日Common App美國大學通用申請系統的開放，2023-2024年美本申請季已經正式開始。在Common App上，大部分的美國大學已經更新了他們新一年申請季的補充文書題目。今天我們將來看看哈佛、斯坦福、賓大、布朗以及哥倫比亞大學的補充文書要求。

補充文書發生明顯變化的大學

首先，我們想重點告知相比上一個申請季，補充文書發生明顯改變的幾所美國大學。

萊斯大學今年的補充文書第三題變成了二選一回答的方式，字數要求則依舊是500字以內。

紐約大學的2023-2024年補充文書改為Optional，題目六選一，字數為250個單詞。第七個選項是“不寫補充文書”。當然，考慮的紐大的申請錄取現狀，我們還是建議大家有時間還是給當場必寫項來寫吧！

弗吉尼亞大學的補充文書題目比往年減少了一篇，往年是十選二，字數要求只有50字/篇，但今年只有一篇，字數上限為300字。對于申請護理學院的學生還需要再寫一篇不多于250字的補充文書。

北卡羅來納大學教堂山分校的補充文書題目數量和去年相比沒有變化，字數也依然是250字/篇，但是兩篇補充文書的題目都發生了變化。

2023-2024，哈佛大學補充文書題目

哈佛大學的補充文書題目乍一看非常像是對前段時間“最高法院招生歧視案件判決”的回應，畢竟一開頭就寫到了“哈佛早已認識到招生多元化的重要性……”

1. Harvard has long recognized the importance of enrolling a diverse student body. How will the life experiences that shape who you are today enable you to contribute to Harvard? (200 words)

2. Briefly describe an intellectual experience that was important to you. (200 words)

3. Briefly describe any of your extracurricular activities, employment experience, travel, or family responsibilities that have shaped who you are. (200 words)

4. How do you hope to use your Harvard education in the future? (200 words)

5. Top 3 things your roommates might like to know about you. (200 words)

學校的補充文書題目取消了過去一直在招生中沿用的可選的Optional補充文書模式，取而代之的是5篇必答的Required 200字文書。

此次補充文書的變化引起了很多人的討論，哈佛大學在校報上專門發布了一篇名為《Harvard Overhauls College Application in Wake of Affirmative Action Decision》的文章，指出哈佛官方針對最高法院可接受做法的配合及調整，即弱化種族因素，強調個人經歷。

2023-2024，斯坦福大學補充文書題目

所有參加斯坦福大學的新生申請的同學都必須完成3個短文Short Essays題目，每篇文章最多250字，其中第3道是今年的新題目，分別是：

1. The Stanford community is deeply curious and driven to learn in and out of the classroom. Reflect on an idea or experience that makes you genuinely excited about learning.

2. Virtually all of Stanford's undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate—and us—get to know you better.

3. Please describe what aspects of your life experiences, interests and character would help you make a distinctive contribution as an undergraduate to Stanford University.

另外，斯坦福大學還要求申請者完成幾個簡短的回答Short Questions，最多50字。其中第五題的題目發生了變化。具體如下：

What is the most significant challenge that society faces today?

How did you spend your last two summers?

What historical moment or event do you wish you could have witnessed?

Briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities, a job you hold, or responsibilities you have for your family.

List five things that are important to you.

2023-2024，賓夕法尼亞大學補充文書題目

賓夕法尼亞大學2023-2024申請附加文書除了有所有申請者都必須回答的問題，申請不同的學院還需要回答另外的題目。

所有申請生的必答題目如下：

1. Write a short thank-you note to someone you have not yet thanked and would like to acknowledge. (We encourage you to share this note with that person, if possible, and reflect on the experience!) (150-200 words, only required for first year applicants)

2. How will you explore community at Penn? Consider how Penn will help shape your perspective, and how your experiences and perspective will help shape Penn. (150-200 words)

3. The school-specific prompt will now be unique to the school to which a student is applying. Considering the undergraduate school you have selected, please respond to your school-specific prompt below. (For example, all applicants applying to the College of Arts and Sciences will respond to the prompt under the “College of Arts and Sciences” section).

申請護理學院的學生需要回答下面的問題：

Penn Nursing intends to meet the health needs of society in a global and multicultural world by preparing its students to impact healthcare by advancing science and promoting equity. What do you think this means for the future of nursing, and how do you see yourself contributing to our mission of promoting equity in healthcare? (150-200 words)

申請文理學院的學生需要回答下面的問題：

The flexible structure of The College of Arts and Sciences’ curriculum is designed to inspire exploration, foster connections, and help you create a path of study through general education courses and a major. What are you curious about and how would you take advantage of opportunities in the arts and sciences??(150-200 words)

申請沃頓商學院的學生需要回答下面的問題：

Wharton prepares its students to make an impact by applying business methods and economic theory to real-world problems, including economic, political, and social issues.? Please reflect on a current issue of importance to you and share how you hope a Wharton education would help you to explore it.??(150-200 words)

申請工程與應用科學學院的學生需要回答下面的問題：

Penn Engineering prepares its students to become leaders in technology, by combining a strong foundation in the natural?sciences and mathematics, exploration in the liberal arts, and depth of study in focused disciplinary majors. Please share how you hope to explore your engineering interests at Penn. (150-200 words)

在每道學院問題的下面官方還給出了回答小提示，感興趣的同學可以前往官網查看詳情！對一些雙專業/跨專業等特殊申請項目，官網則給出了另外的補充文書題目。

2023-2024，布朗大學補充文書題目

布朗大學有三篇必寫的補充文書題目，對新生申請和轉學生申請都適用，分別是：

1. Brown's Open Curriculum allows students to explore broadly while also diving deeply into their academic pursuits. Tell us about any academic interests that excite you, and how you might pursue them at Brown. (200-250 words)

2. Students entering Brown often find that making their home on College Hill naturally invites reflection on where they came from. Share how an aspect of your growing up has inspired or challenged you, and what unique contributions this might allow you to make to the Brown community. (200-250 words)

3. Brown students care deeply about their work and the world around them. Students find contentment, satisfaction, and meaning in daily interactions and major discoveries. Whether big or small, mundane or spectacular, tell us about something that brings you joy. (200-250 words)

布朗還希望學生能簡單回答一些問題，幫助學校招生官更好的了解申請生，如下：

4. Help us get to know you better by reflecting briefly on each of the questions below. We expect that answers will range from a few words to a few sentences at most. What three words best describe you? (3 words)*

5. What is your most meaningful extracurricular commitment, and what would you like us to know about it? (100 words)*

6. If you could teach a class on any one thing, whether academic or otherwise, what would it be? (100 words)*

7. In one sentence, Why Brown? (50 words)*

申請Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) 和Brown-Rhode Island School of Design Dual Degree Program (BRDD)項目的學生則要再回答額外的補充文書題目。有需要的同學們可以至官網查看。

2023-2024，哥倫比亞大學補充文書題目

今年哥倫比亞大學的補充文書與去年有所不同，題目做了改動外，對字數的要求也發生了變化。

第一題的字數要求為最多100字，后面四題的字數要求則是最多150字。具體題目如下：

1.List a selection of texts, resources and outlets that have contributed to your intellectual development outside of academic courses, including but not limited to books, journals, websites, podcasts, essays, plays, presentations, videos, museums and other content that you enjoy. ?(100 words or fewer)

2.A hallmark of the Columbia experience is being able to learn and thrive in an equitable and inclusive community with a wide range of perspectives. Tell us about an aspect of your own perspective, viewpoint or lived experience that is important to you, and describe how it has shaped the way you would learn from and contribute to Columbia's diverse and collaborative community. (150 words or fewer)

3.In college/university, students are often challenged in ways that they could not predict or anticipate. It is important to us, therefore, to understand an applicant's ability to navigate through adversity. Please describe a barrier or obstacle you have faced and discuss the personal qualities, skills or insights you have developed as a result. (150 words or fewer)

4.Why are you interested in attending Columbia University? We encourage you to consider the aspect(s) that you find unique and compelling about Columbia. (150 words or fewer)

5.What attracts you to your preferred areas of study at Columbia College or Columbia Engineering? (150 words or fewer)

在補充文書寫作要求上，哥大也明確的列出了四點，分別是：

Your response should be a list of items separated by commas or semicolons.

Items do not have to be numbered or in any specific order.

It is not necessary to italicize or underline titles of books or other publications.

No author names, subtitles or explanatory remarks are needed.
